Jo's Requiem, unlike much poetry written about the Great War, deals not with the large-scale conflict or the twisted steel or the immense bloodshed, but rather focusses on a single man without any mention of war. There is no commentary, no judgement, no honour, no explanation and no argument. Jo works on a farm, and then he is dead.
